For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

It's so interesting to me how this is something that I would hear about or read about and I would be sad and say a quick prayer for the people..Now that I have entered this new world of the military it has a whole new meaning and impact...
Oh my goodness. My heart and prayers go out to the family of the lost sailor. I can't even imagine what they must be going through. :( So sad. I hope they are surrounded by lots of support. They are going to need it.

The not-so-fun part of an ARS job! I sent this to my son yesterday when it happened and then this morning when they found her....

Lydia....Yay..yay..yay...I was checking the site all afternoon..I felt like a total mother hen...I expected it to be great news but I was looking forward to seeing it in print !! lol....lol....I will keep the prayers going for the others...they have all worked so hard...I don't know them and I am so proud of them...
Jan..Thank You for the update and again, for taking care of that for my guy..I bet he was thrilled !! You must be so happy that R's phone arrived...what a relief..a way to communicate whenever you want or need...whew... I got the address sat. night and the post office was closed for the next 2 days so I had to wait until today to send his phone. I know it will get there in a couple of days but I don't know if he will have it before next week...I can't wait !!!
I Love reading about how these kids are all there for each other...it totally warms my heart...these little apples didn't fall far from the tree..their moms are doing the same thing....xoxoxo
