For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!
Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!
Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

It's so interesting to me how this is something that I would hear about or read about and I would be sad and say a quick prayer for the people..Now that I have entered this new world of the military it has a whole new meaning and impact...

Oh my goodness. My heart and prayers go out to the family of the lost sailor. I can't even imagine what they must be going through. :( So sad. I hope they are surrounded by lots of support. They are going to need it.

The not-so-fun part of an ARS job! I sent this to my son yesterday when it happened and then this morning when they found her....
God bless her family, shipmates and the Rescue Swimmer who had to pull her out of the water.

Lydia....Yay..yay..yay...I was checking the site all afternoon..I felt like a total mother hen...I expected it to be great news but I was looking forward to seeing it in print !! lol....lol....I will keep the prayers going for the others...they have all worked so hard...I don't know them and I am so proud of them...
Jan..Thank You for the update and again, for taking care of that for my guy..I bet he was thrilled !! You must be so happy that R's phone arrived...what a relief..a way to communicate whenever you want or need...whew... I got the address sat. night and the post office was closed for the next 2 days so I had to wait until today to send his phone. I know it will get there in a couple of days but I don't know if he will have it before next week...I can't wait !!!
I Love reading about how these kids are all there for each other...it totally warms my heart...these little apples didn't fall far from the tree..their moms are doing the same thing....xoxoxo

Bonnie, I just got a call from C and he was using your son's phone. :) How cool its that! Here's hoping he gets his own phone tomorrow but nice to know they are taking care of each other in the meantime. There's was lots of loud noise in the background. C's ready to be outa there. Too many guys cutting up all the time. But he did do his 25 meter swim in one breath today and was SOOO relieved. Said not to worry about him quitting. He's just concerned he might not make a physical requirement or gets injured. But he knows if he gives it his all that's all he can do. What a brave bunch of young men! So glad they'll be doing this together. :)

Hey Lady Lydia~ Please know I love ya and B. Al is good, he has a new, his first Tatto0~ suprised I am saying this but I like it. It is the Japanese character for strength, over his heart.
