They will email you all the paper work, and its usually not first come first serve. Each sailor is allowed to tigers, but not everyone has people comming. So have your sailor ask around if you have more than two that want to go. When I went on the cruise last August my son was able to sponser three.
We also were told one Tiger each. I believe the only reason one would be denied, would be due to health issues.
My husband is on the last leg of his journey home. I sure wish my son could come home too. This is his second set of holidays without being with us. Next year will be three due to his next deployment. My oldest daughter and I just came back from a wake for one of my son's friends he has known since Kindergarten. This young man accomplished so much in his young life and was a pre med student. So sad Leukemia took him after such a long and hard fight. I miss my son being home even more now knowing how quickly any of our lives could come to an abrupt end.
Those who have their Sailors home for the holidays, enjoy every second!
God bless and Merry Christmas to all of you!
I have no idea how tiger cruises work. Is there a cruise planned for the Bonhomme Richard? My son has not even reached the ship yet but I don't want to miss the opportunity if it arises. I would love to do one.
Is a Tiger Cruise only on an aircraft carrier? My son is assigned to a command flagship. Is it offered there as well?
Check out the Navy for Dads website for ideas. Google tiger cruise navy for dads and you will find it. Best hint: pack light.
Haven't heard from my sailor about this, but will do the Tiger Cruise if it isn't in the middle of something I can't change. Just got the Ombudsman Newsletter about one going on for my sailor's ship. There will be a one day or a 3 day trip due to a couple of stops. Too early to know the dates just yet. Remember to not share details due to safety: OPSEC rules. This is really important to protect our loved ones.
Will there be a Tiger Cruise for the USS Somerset?
