Hi Cyndi, glad your here. Things have been slow in here lately. But  I have some good news for you guys! We got a package from our son yesterday. It contained souvenir's from the ship's stop in Jordan and Bahrain. He picked out some really nice stuff. A frame showing a map of Bahrain with the different coins of the country mounted on it, a shemagh, the head wrap they use there, a vial of water from the river Jordan where Jesus was baptized, and some books and maps and other stuff. It was a lot of fun digging through it. I emailed him and told him we got it but got no reply. I guess the Email is still down due to exercises.

I am learning how to use this group.  Do I need to Friend more people to see conversations?

I don't like it either, Denise. Makes me a little nervous!

Oh, and we got an Email from him yesterday. Actually the last few days we've gotten a small flurry of them. I'm glad they finally lifted the restriction. He's off crank duty now and is now in the CIC. He is reading charts and standing watch. He said when he returns to port he will be attending additional schooling. But he's glad to see sunlight and up on the bridge rather than down in the kitchen. He said he saw a shark the other day.

Sorry I haven't been on the last couple of days. My mom and sister and her daughter have been up from Florida visiting us. But the good news is we mailed ours out day before yesterday. And everyone got to get in on the decorating of the pillow case so our son is really going to be surprised. We even got our dog Blizzard to put his paw on it and we outlined it so he signed it too. Here's a picture of all of us decorating it.

Isn't it funny how just a few lines from our kids can totally make our day?!... My son NEVER reveals anything he is not supposed to,and even though it is hard for me, I respect him a thousand percent for it......That is all I will say....Except have I mentioned today that I am SOOOO  PROUD to be a NAVY MOM?!!...Our kids rock, but so do we!  OX

That's great Helen, I guess either things are back to normal or they figure everyone knows where they are now so it doesn't matter. I'm hoping all of this is winding down now and our kids can get back to doing something that's safer.

Hi Helen and everyone. Well, good news.... sort of. I had to get up extra early to watch my mom and sister leave/ They have been staying with us and were going back to Florida. But, that's not the good news lol. I checked the Email and got an Email from our son. It was short and to the point, it said: "Hey, we are allowed to write again. I will talk later.'He probably had to jump off in order to make time for others wanting to write. But it's a start. Hopefully we will start getting Emails again.

Hey Teresa! I've been really busy with family stuff. I hope your friend is right. I read the article and my stomach dropped. Glad to hear that it could just be for show. I'm just keeping the prayers coming.

I follow the posts but don't always have access to comment.
