i was extremely shocked when i got a call from the him, he said all is well on the ship, but could not of course, disclose any further information except, it could be a more few weeks, (I am assuming a few meant 2) before we hear from them.

i sent a few packages a while ago, he said it should be closer to the 12th before they could expect shipments. they were suppose to get some around the 4th or 5th but each day it has got pushed back :(  he said that the last time they received anything was when they were last at port.( he said he ordered something from amazon while at port and he got it within a few days, he was very excited it made it there before they left!)

I know he said it has been Extremely HOT during the days, and hes glad hes been working the NOC shift cause its a perfect temp in his office, so much as he has to wear a coat! He says hes get crazy looks when he goes outside to smoke and forgets to take it off!

I wonder when the last time was they received care packages.  I sent Nick's birthday care package out back within the first week of June, now I wonder if he even received it yet.  If not...he'll have some cookies he can feed to the jackals again!  I received an email from him on June 24th (the last one) and he said he hadn't received it yet.  However he did receive the super soaker I ordered and had sent to him directly from Amazon so he could participate in the water fight scheduled for July 4th!

hello everyone,

it has been a while since ive been on here. I just wanted everyone to know that i heard from a "little birdie" over the weekend,  that it could be a week or two before anyone on ship can use email/phone. also the packages you have sent should be catching up with them within the week.

i hope that will put some minds at ease.

have a great day

I'm still sending emails too.  They haven't bounced back so I'm assuming they're getting thru.  When the server was down back in June they bounced back to me within seconds.  I was talking to our summer associate about it (he was a naval aviator for ten years) and he keeps reassuring me that everything is fine and we'd know if something was wrong pretty quickly.  He told me his mom was the same way when he was in the Navy. lol

Same here Helen, the last Email we got from our son was on June 22. But I guess no news is also good news, it's just not as fun : o)

I still haven't heard anything either. I'm still sending emails in case he can read them but not able to reply. I'm keeping everyone in my prayers.

Hello everyone! Has anyone heard from their sailor? Is the email still down? Hope everything is OK on the ship.

I think it takes 4 weeks for any of my packages to get to my son.  Oh well.  Sent warhead candy and they loved it.  Cracker Jacks because of the cute little sailor on the package.  Big hit.  Trying to find other things to send.  I need to get another box out this week and the next week.  Bad mom.  lol  Getting a little behind.
