Oh, and a bit of bad news. He said they had a surprise general quarters drill and at the time he was in the gym. He had to run to the other side of the ship and change into his uniform. He was three minutes late :o( He said the others in his department (O.S. ) were mad at him. I hope he didn't get into too much trouble.

I think that's exactly it Teresa. Sounds like the same type of picture that Helen and Reba received. I'm hoping I didn't think it was junk mail and just tossed it...

Yes! Isn't it great Linda? Our son wrote and told us they had been really busy but after this he would have a lot more free time so apparently they had been doing some sort of excercises but were almost done with them. He mentioned the Galley getting twice as many vegetables as they were supposed to and ended up having to send 1/2 of them back. Hopfully we will all be hearing more from them now.

I haven't heard of a cruise book either. But yesterday we recieved mail from a photography studio. In the envelope was a picture of Timmy in his dress uniform with a sky background. And we could order different prints including one with the ship also in it. It said it was his deployment picture.

Linda- Thanks. I'll do that for the Amazon order. I have never put anything else but FPO-AE in the packages I send him and he has received all of them. He received 2 last week. But I'll try to separate thee FPO-AE for the Amazon order. Hope it works, it is his birthday present! Its in July 3, so I hope he receives it in time.

Sorry to ask, but what is a cruise book and the ordering information?

Comment by Linda73164 on May 6, 2013 at 5:35pm
Sounds like everyone is hearing from their sailors in one form or another! That's great! :-) I know Reba and Helen have both received ordering information for the cruise book, has anyone else? I haven't, and I don't want to miss out on the chance to order one, so just making sure I'm either the only one who hasn't received information, or others are still waiting too.

I'm so happy to hear that Astrid! I chatted with Nick a few minutes this afternoon by email, around 12:30 p.m. eastern time. It was the first time he's emailed in a couple weeks, so I was excited!

I generally put FPO as the "city" and AE under the state. So far he's received 6 of the 9 care packages I've sent...so it must work! :-)

Does anyone knows what Region or state to put when you place an order from Amazon to be sent directly to the sailor in the ship. Augusto told me they can receive directly from Amazon. But the checkout form asks for this info and I dont know it.

Thanks!
