Denise F,

My son is a CTT3.  He's been on the ship for almost 2 years (August).  He's done cranking and DC to name a few.  A buddy of his is asking him to do a deck swap.  His ship is being sent to another port and he really wants to stay in Norfolk because of family.  He's married with two kids.  My son is on the single side.  lol

You are going to love the banner!  I going to get another one.  Any additional banners/signs you order are at a very discounted rate.  I have the 6x8 for the house.  I'm probably going to get a 4x6 to take to the port.  I know  they will love seeing all those banners!  My son loves seeing his banner when he does get to come home.  All the little kids in the neighborhood love the sign also!

I still need to make my deployment wreath.  I think it will be my weekend project.  I will post pictures when it's done.  I didn't think my son would care if I made one or not, but he said he'd like me to make it.  It will come down when he comes home and takes it down himself.

Oh! I bet Nick must have received a "few" boxes yesterday too, then.  He probably thought it was Christmas! :-)  Maybe I'll get an email from him today simply telling me he received the boxes...I know better than expect more than ten words! lol

Okay Moms (and Dads),  some of you probably know about Build A Sign but I thought I post the link anyway.

You can order a free banner (2x3 or 4x6) and then just pay shipping.  I have a 4x6 and they are very nice banners.  I added (paid for) grommets so that I could tie it up.  I'm going to get the smaller one to take for their homecoming.  Yes, I realize it's months away, but why wait until the last minute?  lol  Please pass it on to other SA families.  I would  love to see a bunch of these banners at the pier!!!!  Have a blessed day!!!

Finally heard from my son.  He's grinding the deck  for corrosion control.  He's getting his "cruise tan" on.  lol  Sense of humor is still there.

It's been three weeks and he still hasn't recieved any of his packages.  I've sent 4 so far.  Not sending anymore until I know he's getting them. I do have tracking numbers but they only track for the US.

LOL....smell of victory.

All three of mine played soccer.  They'd get in the car after practice and all take their shoes off.  OMG!!!  I didn't care how hot or cold it was outside, you either put them BACK ON or we rode with the windows down.  I had the window lock.  hehehe.  I have driven with my head out the window before.  It was totally disgusting....The best way to keep the shoes from stinking so bad was put them in front of the refrigerator and let them dry out.  Worked like a charm and no more stinky shoes.  I'm missing the half dozen or so pairs of shoes I had to walk over to get to the fridge.  :(

Great idea with the nerf balls!

@Helen -- Nick played lacrosse all four years of high school, I'd open up his duffle bag to wash his gym clothes and uniform and it would just about knock me out!  Holy sweaty stink!  He would laugh and tell me that was the smell of victory!

I waiting to see if he wants a soccer ball and pump.  He's a big soccer player and was asked to try out for the Navy team.  His chief wouldn't let him.  Disappointed team.  He plays all positions and they wanted him for goalie.  He loves to be physically active and sweating makes it all the better.  gross  I get those sweaty "I love you mom" hugs.  lol

I'm really thinking I need to get more footballs.  If they're not playing catch, they're probably trying to hit each other with them.  At least they're soft.
