GoldnG8r, I will definitely take pictures. I don't know if he has duty that day or not, but oh well, he really wants us there but only I can go. Heading down to Pavo, GA to relieve my parents so that they can come back to Texas for a couple of weeks. They are taking care of my dad's SIL who's bedridden. Pavo is prime Stephen King country with a cemetery about a 1/4 mile behind the house.
I will take lots of pictures! I love photography! If I don't bring my camera to any event, my kids are disappointed as well as others. I love sharing my pictures! It's a hobby and I love seeing the joy on people's faces when they look at the pictures.
maqz35...enjoy your time with your sailor. It goes way too fast! I did get a gate pass to sit with mine at the gate and watch Big Bang Theory with him on his laptop. I'm picking up his car so I"ll see him again in a week!
To Norfolk Before Deployment Question
My son is also on the San Antonio and I want to see him before he deploys but I'm not sure realistically we can go. I'm concerned about the amount of time I would be able to spend with him. First, it takes 6 + hours to fly to Virginia, so if I fly in on Friday I'll arrive in VA at 9pm, that would leave all day Saturday with my son (if he doesn't have watch), then we would fly home on Sunday morning.
My question: have you made this trip before? did you get to spend much time with your sailor?
Thanks for the guidance.
Angela
Linda, I know how you're feeling. I take my sailor back tomorrow also. Not long enough.....
Bringing my son to the airport tomorrow, his leave is over. :-(
GoldnG8r ~ it's nice he as a driving buddy. I wish we lived 10 hours away. We're two DAYS away in Houston. I get to drive his car back to Texas. Joy. But I get to drive it while he's gone. Subaru WRX turbo. Oh yeah baby!! lol
Magz35 ~ I'm sure you'll hear from him tomorrow. He might have second leave.
I'm so excited. I hope I can sleep tonight! I feel like a kid! Woo Hoo!!
Linda, my son got permission since he had duty. Have your son check and see since some have duty. Maybe since he has first leave, he can leave earlier?? Worth having him check into it. Enjoy your sailor!
