Welcome Linda!  My son is a CTT.  He's been on board for about a year and a half.

@bakhmom...loved your post  "here".  Sounds just like my son.  One word texts and answers.  lol

Hi Denise,

I think in general its shipboard maintenance:

Professional Apprenticeship Career Tracks (PACT) is a program designed to enlist Sailors into a monitored general apprenticeship program that provides Apprentice level formal training and on the job training that leads to a viable career field within two years on board their first Permanent Duty Station.

They go in undesignated, and can study and strike for a rate in 9 months.  Not exactly what he was planning on, but again, he seems happy with it so it gives him some time to decide exactly what he wants to do.

He has to report by Dec. 31.  He's in the S-PACT program (not a bad thing, but his recruiter misled us a bit regarding the S-PACT program). He's pretty excited nonetheless and I'm pretty excited for him!

My son just graduated from bootcamp on November 21, 2012 and has been assigned to the USS San Antonio.  I'm so glad he's coming back to the east coast!

@GoldnG8r - lol - that's too funny.  I think my son called several times.  He was seeing if we could get the ballgame so that we could see him behind homeplate.  We couldn't.  He did get some great pictures himself.  He knows how I am about pictures, so he takes them.  He's required to be in at least 1/3 of them.  lol  I scrapbook the big things, but PIR had it's own photobook.  I use Mixbook and select custom.  He loves looking through those books.  I have an awesome book from his graduation.

@Denise F - Grandmas are great!  I so wish I could have gone!  Can't wait to see some of your photos!  I will definitely be there for their deployment homecoming!!
