I need to mail a couple out, I was really good at getting them out every 10 days or so, but I've slacked off a bit.  Need to get back in the habit.

Jessica- congratulations for your brother medal!!! I don't know what NAM is but if it stands for Navy Medal Achievement, your brother must have been doing something great!! You should all be proud, even I feel proud for you all!
Have a good day, God Bless our sailors and lets all pray for their safe return.

Its so nice to finally hear daily from my son -- even if his emails only consist of a few words!  His truck will be paid off before his deployment ends and he's already shopping for a new one.  Not sure why he told me to keep an eye out for one, I wouldn't know a "good truck" if it ran me over! :-)

Thanks to everyone for the thoughts and prays. I received the sweetest email today from my son. He sent a letter for me to give his papaw. He said even some of his shipmates are praying for my Dad. God is in control. My Dad made it through surgery today and is doing good tonight . I know that we all are counting down the days till they return safely. God Bless and thank you all.

Jessica, I pray your brother makes it home in time for the birth of your nephew. Our Navy son will not be here next sunday when his new nephew arrives....That is when it is extra hard.Welder mom....I even have such VIVID DREAMS that my boys are all toddlers, laughing and playing.

its been a while since i posted hope all is well with everyone, i have talked to my little brother for a few minutes . the only thing he really talked about is the count down! and his plans for when he gets back! Im so excited he says he is coming home, it has been two years since hes been in his home state (oregon) If all is planned right he will get to greet our new nephew from our oldest brother!

I just learned that He received a Navy achievement medal (NAM)? not sure what its for but whatever it is i am proud! it was explained to me in these words. "its basically because he is a Bad@$$!" lol so if someone else can explain it a bit better that would be great!.

i must go for now, have a great day or night and hope everyone gets to hear from their loved ones soon!

Welder Mom ~ welcome aboard!!  My son has definitely grown up more on this deployment.  In my mind, all my kids are between 2 and 3, my favorite age.  His last email was I miss you so much and I want to come home!!  I'm mentally preparing for that bone crushing hug I'm going to get.  lol  I just can't wait to see his handsome face in person!!!!

Cari, welcome and I'm so sorry to hear about your Dad.  I'm also sorry he's having a hard time on the ship.  I son did for quite a while and I convinced him to talk to the chaplain.  That's what they're there for.  It really helped my son to just say what was bothering him out loud.  If he gets frustrated or down, he talks with one of the chaplains on the ship.  There are three.  Like I always tell my son, God has a plan for you.  It will happen in His time, not yours.  Stick with it because people are watching.  Never give up.  I'll keep your family in my prayers.

JuJu ~ that's so cool that you and CyndiH are so close!!!  All I can say is WOW!  God is good!!

I also saw my son's group on facebook....My son is looking older , too....but in a serious, handsome way....Not like us, when we are going through a bad time, when we can sometimes look haggard! Lol! ....I lived for my bootcamp moms too! We really went through something together! One mom friended me, and told me she was on the beach when her much anticipated 1st phone call came in.She had her cell in a ziploc bag, and couldn't open it on time!...But the worst part for her, was crying all the way home, only to get her 1st letter from her son saying, he had SO MUCH to tell her, but he was saving it for his 1st phone call! Well would you guys believe, that after I told my son this story, he put two and two together, and realized, the guy in the bunk, who he had buddied up with straight across from him was the same Corie from S. Carolina! We all met up after PIR, and hugged and took pictures together.

  • Welcome, Welder Mom!!!!! So happy more moms are jumping in! The water is warm!....I am on here probably too much, but it is only because I am now at home watching my grandkids....My son is a teacher, and his wife is an R.N.They were living two hours away, and now, they literally live  across the street from us.They made me an offer I couldn't refuse, so it's a win-win situation. The only draw back is not having co-workers to laugh with.I don't care what kind of job I have ever had, I have always made it my mission to make it as fun as possible! We would laugh til we cried, and I am proud to say that I made two of my co-workers pee their pants they were laughing so hard, Life is just too short to be so serious........Hey moms, guess what is so cool? Cyndi and I only live about a half hour away from each other!....Isn't that nice? God is GOOD.......
