bhkmom - my son bought his tickets at the game.  He paid face value.  the captains upgraded him, so to speak.  He sold his tickets to some other friends.  He said they are seen on the big screen all the time, especially with a right handed batter.  He's really have a good time.  He so needs one, at this point.

What's your son's rate?

Comment by Helen, T-man's mom on June 14, 2012 at 9:34pm

He is actually at the game right now.  He and a buddy bought tickets off of third base.  The good seats.  While they were waiting, two captains came up to them and gave them tickets to 5 rows up from homeplate!  He was so pumped!!

August will be a year for him. He's a CTT3.

Pictures would be great. He's going to be a tour guide for the public.  He's pretty good at that sort of thing.

Have fun!!!

They did go to a ballgame...unfortunately, since my son just joined the ship he missed out on getting tickets...

So wish I could be there.  I'm in Texas.  My son said they were trying to make arrangements to see a ballgame while in port.  I told him take lots of pictures for me.  He sent a few as they were pulling in.  I'll have to ask him about the popping noises.  lol

Talked with my son yesterday...he said it was really cool manning the rails as they pulled into Baltimore, but he was on the wrong side of the ship....they were facing an industrial area and the sailors on the other side were facing Fort McHenry.  He said they heard some popping noises and turned around...he said the Fort was firing on them!  LOL  They were firing off cannons to welcome the ships!

Good Morning Ladies,

I am not really a "new" Navy Mom....my youngest son has just  joined the San Antonio as an ENFN.  He is looking forward to getting underway for their short trip up to Baltimore.  My older son is a Nuke ET on the Abraham Lincoln and they are currently deployed and not scheduled to come home for another several months.

GoldnG8r - yes...we are in Virginia....we are only a couple hours away from Norfolk so we will be able to visit or my son can come home when he has free time.  Also our older son is going to be stationed in Norfolk for a few years so he will have his brother close....
