Your son should know these things. If not hubby said contact command duty officer. It will all work out.
Does he get to come home for Christmas? Yes, assume he is getting the letters and keep them coming. Hopefully he will be able to call again but can never tell when that will be. This is the hardest part of the whole process but it will be worth it. Hang in there !!
What is the hardest part for you right now? A school will be much better than boot camp since you can communicate so much more.
Your son should have some idea. It's the Navy so just be flexible and be patient. He will do great and enjoy it. When does he graduate?
Me again, I was wondering if anyone in this group is living in the area or knows anything about finding a short term lease? Thanks!
Mrs.Jane.Rad - my son is at Biloxi now for A school. His PIR was 9/7/2012. I don't know about housing rules for wives. You might could contact the recruiter and see what they could find out for you.
Also, could someone tell me how to join the facebook group? :) Thanks!
Hello, My husband is in boot camp right now, but we are headed to Biloxi for A school for AG. Not sure of the start date yet and getting some conflicting information. Does anyone know about housing rules for wives. He will be there for 4 months. Also, anyone who is there now or headed there/has been there I'd love to talk to you!
Nathan was able to take his computer and phone with him when he got on the plane on Saturday morning (after PIR). At that time he had to get permission to take it with him, each command is different in what they allow and when. Now, that was 1 1/2 years ago so things could have (and most likely have) changed somewhat!
Not sure on the discounts but go ahead and ask, can't hurt. A school is more lenient than boot camp for shipping items. I think we just went with the P.O. guidelines such as anything hazardous, fragile, etc. We did take the battery out of the phone tho and separated it in the shipment. you can always tell them its clothes, computer, phone, etc. maybe even a little something from home ? A good thing is the communication will be so so much better. :o)
