For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

A School Grad Questions
I haven't been on here since we left for PIR August 19th! It's been a crazy few months. Now we are looking at making the trip back for his A School grad on October 26th.
- Will they have liberty the weekend before their graduation?
- Will we be able to be on the same airline and flight back to CA? Should I buy him a one way ticket?
- What ID is needed to get an 8-year old onto base (social security card or birth certificate)?

A school graduations tend to be low key affairs.
They'll have liberty if they have earned it and do not have duty. Probably yes.
Do not buy him a plane ticket. The Navy gets bulk discounts and the travel office will issue him a ticket home. His leg of it comes out of his pay. Do NOT buy him a ticket, it screws up the system and the reimbursement paperwork doesn't always come through. You probably will not be flying back with him. There is a chance he won't be checked out and ready to leave at the exact time you will.
Birth certificate is the preferred method, but an SSN will do. In CA, you can get a DMV state ID card for a child ... at any age.
