My husband is going to be a GSM, and his recruiter said it would be about a 9 week school. This is also what I have seen in several different websites. Last week he sent me a letter that said his school would be about 25 weeks, so now I am a little confused. He's going to be in Great Lakes. Does anyone know anything about this?

Hi, My son graduated from GSM school in August and it was 9 weeks. He did say at one point he may be on hold but that didn't happen. Sorry I don't have more information than that.
My son got to GL on 6/23. I think he waited one week before he started something called ATT, that lasted a few weeks and he started Gunner's Mate right away. Now he graduates on 10/26. So it looks like has been there for about 4 months. Then he moves on to C school after that. I am not sure how long that lasts.
Hi I sure wish I knew this answer too. My new son in law just signed a contract. He leaves for Bootcamp Oct. 31st. My daughter said that this job he picked will keep him away from home 65 percent of the time. They are newly married couple. Just got married in July. My son is now at bootcamp. You have div. 316 on your name...but my son is in 315 which is the boy division...Just curious if I had the wrong div number. Anyways, my son is going into AO. I am new at ALL this. Never been in military life ever. My husband is a Marine but got out by the time I met him. He helps me see things better but they are all on a man level of military. This mom has now a son and new son in law in the Navy, with my olderst daughter following her husband. Empty nest for me. Hahaha (ok I laughed but I'm not liking it) I hope you find the answer newnavywife..
When I said this job...its the same as your husband. GSM.
