I know a lady who's husband is in the Navy. They both married at 18 and are still married over 20 years later.
with the military its just hard being a girlfriend. there is no respect for us you know? if i had my family supporting me tho college maybe that would be better. but idk there is a whole lot to think about.
When you first see him after the ceremony, everyone runs up and has a hug and a kiss.  For the rest of his liberty, you may not kiss, hug, or hold hands in public.  He may escort you on his left arm, leaving his right arm free for saluting.  While he may take your arm, you cannot hang on him.  No snuggling up when sitting.  When you say goodbye for the evening (if you must), a quick peck is usually overlooked.  No liplocks.  And whatever you do, he must NOT return to base with a hickey.  I HAVE seen guys, and girls, written up and disciplined for that.
hahaha (that last part made me laugh so hard). thanks, its nice to know the rules before i get up there. but that just stinks :(

PDA Public Display of Affection. Since he is required to be in uniform at all times no hanging all over each other. You can hold hands and other minor things, I'm sure he will let you know real quick before he gets into trouble.

We respect you jblvd93.  While my son was in boot camp I got to know many of the girlfriends of recruits in my son's division. They helped me through the rough times. My son got pneumonia during the 5th week of boot camp. This made passing his PFA difficult. I was worried sick. The recruits girlfriend wrote to their sailors and asked them to help my son out. They did, and my son passed his PFA.= Physical Fitness Assessment.
thanks. my boyfriend got sick around that time also. do yall know the liberty for a school in great lakes? like what phase would he be allowed to come home for a weekend?
Where is home?  They have a 300 mile liberty limit they cannot exceed.  He can't just fly home unless he takes leave, and they don't grant leave to student sailors in a training status (except for the stand down and emergency leave).
mcdonough ga so thats to far for him to go :(
