My son graduated from boot camp on April 29 and has been waiting to class up since then.  He is pretty bored right now.  Says not much to do except "watch duty" and cleaning barracks.  I heard it could take up to 4 months to class up for A school.  He is trying to get volunteer work just to do something but said it is pretty unorganized there. He also said internet service there in Pensacola is horrible and they have no TV in their room.

OOO but they can put in chits for phase three liberty weekends! just in case you want to go visit him! They are having a 5day weekend basically on memorial day so he put in the chit and gets to spend it with me at the navy gateway inn!

Also I saw u asked about phasing up on the other bored. When he gets there he will have to become "watch qualified". He will have to do watch qual's then take a written and oral test. They are given a week or so to do that. To phase up to phase two takes two weeks (hubby gets his sunday! wohoo) Those that didnt get watch qualified in time but arrived with him arent getting to phase up! But NAS is pretty cool he can have his phone right away! Hubby had his since grad weekend! Its so nice to be able to talk and text all day after so little communication from bootcamp. Im not sure how long it takes to get to phase 3, hubby is going to be a brown bagger so he wont have to go thru that. He said normally takes about 3wks tho

Z's girl - my hubby is there now. He grad april 29th from Bootcamp. When he first got there he was told the wait was 3months. since then its changed and the longest hes been told he should be there is 4months total. Its kinda u dont know till ur there, and then u still dont know for sure.

Also AE isnt guaranteed C school, it depends on what type of plane or helicopter the end up specializing in.
