He probably is working on his quals to get to do more...it takes time....:)
Thanks BeachBunny for the quick response. He missed out on 2 detachments during the short time he was in LeMoore before being deployed. The first one he missed because the squadron had just left when he first arrived and one of them because of C school. Mostly what he did when he first arrived was grunt work because everybody was gone. I'm just getting concerned that the majority of his naval experiences has been grunt work and classes. Don't get me wrong, he's never complained or even mentioned it but just me as his Mom wants him to get the most out of what he signed up to do.
As part of a squadron, there's many jobs to be done...he will be doing other work besides aviation electronics...am sure he has even swept the floor of his shop on and off the ship...it's normal....:)
My son is an AE, he finished A school in Pensacola in January and was transferred to LeMoore. Now he is on deployment. The one time I have heard from him he said they were washing a jet?. So, my question is....why is he washing a jet? Shouldn't he be getting trained in Aviation Electronics since that is what he is supposed to be doing?
Hi Ladies...
just wanted to invite the Pensacola moms over to the Pcola group too...lots of information on that group...

Also I live in CA...saw some chatter about LeMoore NAS..drove by near there the other day, I was heading back from dropping my sailor off for a 10 month deployment...LeMoore is located in the middle of the CA valley about 3 hours north of LA and beaches...
Hi Everyone!! My sailor arrived at Pensacola Saturday. Still waiting on classes to make. : ( He's still learning the rules but enjoying his freedom from Bootcamp!! Hopefully more AE's will arrive and they can get to studying!!
Hi Laura, Sam likes it pretty well. Although there is not much to do in LeMoore, it is surrounded by many different places to tour within short driving distance. There is the beach, there are the mountains for snow boarding, it is near some awesome national parks (Sequoia was one) and he has gone to San Diego and other cities as well as Disneyland that were all great weekend he will be done on August 7. He does not have a vehicle but has had to rely on transportation from friends. He hopes to save enough money while on a 10 month deployment to purchase a car or truck when he returns. It would be really helpful and much better if your son has his own transportation. We live in Alabama, where are ya'll ;) from?
Hi Laura, my son finished A school in January and was stationed for Lemoore as well. He is training as an AE working on the F/18s also. He is in C school now at Lemoore and will be deployed shortly after he finishes. It will be his first deployment and he will be on that ship for almost a year! Anyway glad to see you on here since our sons are following a similar track.
Laura, LOL exactly!! (about the vampires)
