Hi Monkey's Mom,

I've noticed that this group is not very active. Both of my sons have gone through BC and are currently stationed at NAS. One is AV while the other is GSE. I would say while he's there write a lot of letters to keep him going and feeling connected to home. He'll probably call you like the 2nd to 3rd week if all goes well with his training group. Graduation is the best feeling ever! Find your PIR Group and they will keep you updated about the meet and greet and any items that you may need. That group is where you will get the most beneficial information. My AV was stationed in Pensacola for A school and then some go off to C school right after. Just reinforce the good study habits they had while prepping for an exam and he should be good. Try to find cheap refundable tickets or no/low cost change tickets for PIR (Graduation) once he send you the letter that says his anticipated graduation date. Please know that you may not be able to bring more that 3 people, possibly 4 (including you) to PIR. So be Selective when you choose that person because if the other person backs out I'm sure that could've been space for someone who really wanted to go. I had a similar incident happen to me for my last son's PIR. Not sure where you live, but him being stationed at Pensacola was perfect for us because it wasn't a long drive. My other son however was stationed at Great Lakes and I didn't see him from September thru December when they have shut down and he was able to come home. I think they call it Mass Exodus. I hope this has helped! I'm not on here very often I just happened to see your posts and know that no one every seems to respond to this group.

Hello out there, I'm new to all of this. My son will be headed to "A" school in early January.  Any hints of what I should do now that he is still in BC?

Does anyone know if there are actually multiple training sites for AV A school? I keep hearing Pensacola, but I had also heard a few other locations as well.

Good Morning. I have noticed that there has not been a post in this group since June 19th, 2015. Is this still an active group?
