Hi Everyone - my son Adam left today. At the moment, he is in Norfolk, VA waiting to get on a plane that leaves at 10:00 PM. He has been in the Navy for just about a year and this good bye was the worst. I am so uncomfortable about him leaving the country. I will feel better when I know he is at the base in Bahrain and settled in. Praying for a smooth transition for him.
KathyB - thanks for the info about church. Maybe our kids will meet up somewhere and be an encouragement for each other. That would be nice.
hey everyone! so my seven month old and i are in bahrain! i think we have been here for....Five days maybe? I have completely lost track of days and times lol! Anyways, I have just a few ways to describe this place....HOT, Bad driving, and ugly. :P But I think its safe to say its fairly safe here in most places. My husband and I walk through the "black flag" areas during the day, which is where military isnt allowed to go through at night, and its super dirty there and I get lots of creepy looks, being a young American female....Getting the visa was VERY easy to get in the country. I really miss the US and have such a huge appreciation for home now! Anyone else have MA's? Let me know if you have any weird questions I might be able to answer for you about this place ;) I'm trying to stay busy right now while my husband is at work for the night!
Hi Ladies - I was wondering if any of your sailors have found a good Christian, Bible believing church while stationed in Bahrain. I saw that there is a Word of Life church nearby. Any info anyone has on this subject would be helpful. My son is leaving on Tues. :-( Trying to be strong. Thanks, Cathy
