My sailor will be leaving for Bahrain as a Riverine in Oct. Will an AT&T cell phone work for him? He currently has Verizon. I believe someone mentioned Verizon doesn't work.
I didn't know there was a Navy Mom Bahrain FB group so I'm glad I saw the post on here; I sent a request! I belong to an Ohio Navy Families group and love connection with them but I" excited about the Bahrain Group!
I received an email from my son today. I hadn't heard anything for a couple of weeks; he'd been having email issues. He was promoted to Lieutenant earlier this month! Unfortunately, it was just a quick 2 min ceremony during the work day and no pictures were taken. The only dress white picture I have is at his commissioning...he hates pics :( So very proud of him and miss him bunches! He's been in Bahrain since last June and was supposed to leave in this Aug but the LtJG who was to replace him isn't qualified so he will be there until the end of Nov and may not be home to OH until Christmas.
Carolinagirl125, I am a member of the Riverine Bahrain Moms on Facebook. If you send me your name or email I can send you an invite since it is a closed group.
Amazonannie - you mentioned a Bahrain Riverine Mom's facebook page. I am a member of the Navy Moms Bahrain facebook page but have not been able to find the Riverine Moms. Could you help?
Hi everyone. On vacation right now with our MA in Florida. He is home for leave until the first of July. So praying that the unrest does not affect his reassignment. I share your concerns on this. Trying not to think about it too much right now and just enjoying having all our kids together for the first time in 4 years. Enjoying watching the laughter and shenanigans. Keeping all our servicemen and servicewomen in prayers. Such a difficult time right now. Hugs and Prayers.
My GM is not taking this seriously. She is not understanding the gravity of the situation she is going into.
Hi everyone, it has been a while since I have been on but my son has been in bahrain for a year now. I miss him like crazy but he has already been home once and now I am meeting him in London for his leave and then he will come home for a couple of weeks and then back over. He is over there for two years. His only complaint is that if the internet is not working then he can not communicate with us which it is down a lot. But we hang in there and do what we can
Hi, My son is a Riverine and has been in Bahrain for over three weeks now. I've been nervous, but we were able to Skype today and finding this group is making me feel a little more at ease.
