I knew I wasn't the only one who had this stress and I guess as military families we want to deny as much as we can, but when the realization hits you, it won't be denied anymore. Prayer and faith are truly the only things that get us through each day. He didn't say much about what his day to day was like, but did let us know that it was extremely dangerous. More so than he led us to believe through our emails and phone chats (though, few and far between). They don't want us to worry, I get that. But, sometimes I would rather know than not.
I wish for everyone a safe and happy Monday. Back to the routine.
Paces, I know I was stressed when Chris was deployed in the Med Sea 2 years ago. I was so ecstatic to meet his plane in Norfolk and felt such a burden lifted. Now that he's stationed in Bahrain I feel that same heaviness and I pray w/o ceasing! I know that God will take care of him but I sure wish he was state side. As moms, it's hard not to worry and wonder...especially when mine doesn't communicate much!
Good morning, everyone. It has been a while. Our sailor went back on Aug 25. Received an email that he arrived safe and sound. He also said he would be starting nights and he was really glad about that.
Chriscwick...I didn't realize how stressed I was until he walked up the ramp from the plane. It was like I huge boulder was lifted off my shoulders when I saw him. Not as stressed this time, though, I don't think. We can see the end of the tunnel. He will be re-assigned in July. It seemed so far away just a few months ago and now it seems like it will be just around the corner. I can hardly believe it is already October.
Welcome to all the new members. This is a great group.
I send all my packages through a "Mail and More" office. They take care of everything, (packing it, customs papers, etc). It costs about $5.00 more for large packages, but it is worth it to me. I was able to send his euphonium to him for less than $100. They send it USPS.
For fun, I sent a card to my daughter's flat. It took a little over a month to get there
I use the boxes from post office that no matter how much it neighbors ships for 15.00. He usually gets it in a bout 4 days. They give you a tracking number so you can see when he gets it
I use the if it fits it ships boxes
