Have a safe drive! Pack lots of road trip games! If it's anything for your husband like it was for my son, he'll be really busy as graduation approaches so the letters got shorter. Don't take it personal. They have so much going on right at the end. I wish you guys the best of luck! Will Josh stay there in GL for A school? Will you and the kids be moving up? What hotel are you staying at? We stayed at the Quality Inn. It was nice, full breakfast every morning and free wi-fi in the room. It was $59.00 a night (but, that was a single bed.) I believe the price for double is $79.00 if you call and tell them you are booking for a navy graduation event. Then they offer rollaway beds also.

I'm sending you a friend request if you have any questions.. don't hesitate to ask. If I can't answer, I'll sure try to help find out who can!

Deanna~ Thank you so much for all of the info. I am part of my PIR group so I will continue to look for BS info. I am actually driving to GL. I wish I could fly, but flight, hotel and car rental was just more than we could afford. We have 3 kids and me so I would have had to pay for 4 roundntrip flights. A friend offered to make the drive with me. So we'll leave here on the 06/09 and PIR is on the 11th.
Again thank you for all the info. I'm going to ask in tonights letter if he has a date for BS.

Josh's wife, I saw on your profile you're from Ft. Worth. Have you already made your flight and hotel reservations for PIR? We found that flying into Milwaukee was a lot cheaper then flying into O'Hare. (our tickets were $188.00 instead of $350) and we rented a car and drove down to Waukegan instead of up from Chicago. It literally took us like 40 minutes and was a VERY easy drive from the airport to the hotel so we didn't have to deal with Chicago traffic.

Josh's Wife. Are you a member of your husband's PIR Discussion group already? Usually there is someone that posts a scheduled based on a letter or phone call from their recruit. And then as other's hear from their recruits they add to it. But, BS 21 is usually approx 5 days or so before their graduation. My son graduated 4/9 and his BS was Monday, April 5th - Tuesday April 6th. The BS runs from 20:00 (8 PM) - 08:00 (8 AM). there is a really great youtube video on it. If you want to see a brief overview of what Josh will be doing.

Good luck to your husband! Have a great time at his PIR!! It's such an incredible event! What rate (job) is he? Will he be grad and go and/or staying in GL for A school?

It's going to be 46 and they've had days in the upper 70's very recently and upper 60's before today.. so it won't stick (or shouldn't) and might not even happen. It may rain though while we're there and is only going to be in the 50's until the weekend when it gets in the low/mid 60's so if you're cold natured, you might want to bring a coat. I think I will .. just in case..

I checked the weather in Chicago...Looks like rain/snow for tonight and tomorrow. However the weekend looks good.
Comment by GANavyMom on April 7, 2010 at 9:38pm
Snow??? The only "snow" we are having in GA is from pollen (a different kind of yellow snow). Do I need to reconsider my packing Lisa?
Comment by LisaL on April 7, 2010 at 7:55pm
