How long is A school for BMs?

Comment by RaksAndRoll on August 8, 2018 at 7:51pm

Hi Moms,

My daughter will be heading to BC the first week of Oct.  She will be going to A school in GL after PIR to become a BM.  So I'm still early in the process!  Doesn't mean I'm not having anxiety over it though!  Now that she has a BC date set, it's all becoming very, very real.  This is an adventure for ALL of us, isn't it?

Does anyone have any stories or words of wisdom regarding BM training in GL?

My son just shipped out for BC on 2-8-18.  Is there anyone else whose son left around that time and will going to A School afterwards training to be a Boatswain Mate?  Would love to stay in touch if possible!!!

My son will be graduating A school as a Boatswain Mate this Friday, Oct. 27. We won't be able to make the graduation. Are there any families in this group who has a Boatswain Mate graduating this Friday?

To ( 10mileloop ) Yes, my son is a BM. But, I'm not in Sunny San Diego. I'm guessing that your son has left for boot camp. Get ready for the roller coaster ride. You will have good and bad days. Make sure you have your cellphone charged and bring it into the bathroom. They do not call never often. I only got Three calls during the entire time he was at boot camp. Start getting your snail mail letters ready. He will love those letters. Then you will get the box back of all his stuff. I still have my son's box. I placed all our corresponding letters inside for safe keeping It has been two years that my son has been out of boot camp. Good luck.
