My son left on May 28th from Texas headed to o Great Lakes.
Hi Heidi - this group isn't real active. Be sure to join the Boot camp moms group - I left the link to it in the welcome message on your page. You'll find answers to most of your questions there. Once you receive the official letter (9-14 days after arrival) with the PIR date you can then join that group. Hang in there and remember, no news is good news!
JamieRN - My son left on Dec. 3rd
question: Have any of your deps/ SR's just get signed up for Navy Federal? We have gotten 98 pieces of mail from them and can't make hide nor hair of almost any of it..... Anyone else , confused ? Maybe just us...(LOL) Also, if Lemonelephant is on here: i know they take their black wallet with thirty dollars in it and a phone card..... is it safe to take their Navy Federal Cards that were sent in the mail or should they leave those with family until A school. I know these are probably dumb questions..... sorry and i appreciate you all so much!!! Blessings!!!
Are there any mom's with deps leaving for G.L in the beginning of December? Just trying to catch up with other moms at about the same stage of the process as myself. I hope all you ladies ( and your sailors) are having a blessed weekend:))

Smichelle.. we need an update from you now that you have crossed the threshold of BC?
I to will be crossing this Friday and I go to watch my son begin his adventure in the US NAVY! During his call "I am a SAILOR" today,,, I realized I was not talking to my teenage son anymore but to my son who has become a MAN! While the 9 weeks has taught him things I never could, I know in his heart is the little boy I hugged, read to, and taught right from wrong. He will always be my little boy and I will always see that cute little baby face when I look at him and remember how he once was but so excited to see who he will now become in the United States Navy. I am such a proud mom and want to say THANK YOU GOD for my son and for his wonderful presence in my life!
