Just found this site. Day 8 for me too. Having a nice morning so far. I get up early to work and it has been easier since my son has been gone because I know with the time change he is probably up too. =)

Smichelle.. we started our tradition of doing a little NAVY tree,,  found it at walmart for like $8.00.  It is gold with blue decorations and blue tree skirt, we then printed off NAVY emblems in color and cut them out and put all over the tree, The tree topper is the AMERICAN FLAG>   I will have to make it my profile pic so you can see it.  So ecery CHirstmas this tree will go up in honor of him and all our children who will be serving our country away from home.

We also gave out blue candles to everyone at the party. We planned to light these when they get to BS21.  I like your idea of burning it all the time.

Cant wait to see your Day 7.  Have a blessed weekend

Day 1
For every day you list a job or assignment, I am keeping a journal specifcally for this "bootcamp for mom" so i can notate all we are going through. I listed my Day 1 and listed my 10 positive things and so on..

Day 2 -is that todays entry????
I dont work so I guess I wil ljust write my feelings as we prepare him to leave

Tomorrow being Day 3 will be the hardest yet. I cant wait to see what your daily question or assignment will be....

I love that idea! You should do something good for yourself! You raised a wonderful person because you are a wonderful person!

My biggest issue will be that I won't be able to go and get my son should something happen. When I expressed this pain to him, he laughed, gave me a big hug, and said, "Mom, if something happens, I'll come and get YOU!" I have always been the guardian, nurturer, discipliner, even monster mommy when the situation called for. Now he wants to reverse the role too soon and be the guardian of all of us. There are certainly days when I wonder "Whats wrong with accounting?" Dear Lord - keep our children safe.
