My boyfriend and i been together for almost 3 yrs. The day the recruiter told him that he will be leaving Feb.6, my boyfriend said he instantly thought of me because my birthday is the day after he has to leave.  When he told me that date, i was like "really... a day before my birthday". i am already trying to prepare myself so i can show him how confident and strong i can be when he goes through this new journey. is there any advice out there that can help me so i wont dwell on the fact that he leaves around a special time for me?

My boyfriend was originally supposed to leave November 1, 3 days after my 21st birthday. Around the middle of September his ship date got moved up until September 27th so he missed my birthday completely. He made sure I got flowers delivered and everything on my birthday which was GREAT, considering I didn't expect it at all! I was crushed when I figured out he was missing my birthday but it turned out to be a blessing in disguise because he still made my birthday amazing. And I would just be 2 weeks into training if he would have left in November, but now I'm leaving a week from tomorrow for Chicago to see him :) it will go by so fast for you!! Trust me. My bf and I have also been together almost 3 years (In January)

thats great and thanks for the inspiration! did it seem like his training went by fast. even though my bf didnt leave yet, i cant wait to see him graduate from basic. his A school training will also be in Chicago  and i live 3 hours away from Chicago, so hopefully i can visit him more when that time comes.

Hang in there girl! My boyfriend has only been gone a little over two weeks and I miss him more than words can say. Its soo hard being away from him and its a mixture of emotions from being super sad that hes gone to super excited that each day that passes is closer to him graduating! Im very proud of him for doing what he is doing and Im positive that you will feel the same way when he leaves, if you dont already feel like that now. While hes not missing my birthday like you, he will be gone for thanksgiving, christmas and new years. Its tough and its def. going to be a whole new experience for you and him but he's doing an amazing thing! Try not to let it get to you or him..I know its hard but it will be harder if he leaves feeling down and stressed that he missed your birthday. Make sure you let him know how proud you are of him!
