But when I first hurd his voice it sounded so dif I didnt even reconize it =[ As we talked I realized he wasnt the same upbeat guy he used to be brfore he went in. Has anyone else noticed this? Im so scared he is changing completely and his feelings will change for me.

Hey! My boyfriend just graduated from bootcamp, we aren't engaged yet but we do plan on getting married. My boyfriend sounded different the first time I talked to him while he was in bootcamp too. He sounded really down and it sucked that I couldn't do anything to make it better. I tried joking around with him to cheer him up but it didn't help much. The only other time I talked to him during bootcamp was the week of graduation, and he was sick so he still sounded down and completely exhausted. I remember being nervous before graduation, hoping that he was still the same guy that he was when he left and that he still felt just as strongly for me. He graduated 2 weeks ago, and I visited him at a-school this past weekend. Good news! After graduation, when you get to spend time with your man you'll see that he's still the same guy and he still loves you just as much, if not more! I think whenever we get to talk to them they're homesick, not feeling good, worn out, etc. The RDCs can be really hard on them, my boyfriend told me they like to get in their face and yell at them. Things get much better for them after bootcamp! I did notice some changes in my boyfriend, but they were for the better. He was much more mature, and much more focused when he came out of bootcamp. After graduation, we were back at the hotel room and it was just like it used to be between us. He actually told me that my letters really helped him get through bootcamp because it was really tough mentally and physically. He also said that he only fell more in love with me during that time. I feel like going through bootcamp made our relationship stronger! Sorry this is so long, but I remember feeling exactly the way you do and I just wanted to let you know that everything will be ok! And there is light at the end of the tunnel haha
Thank you that made me feel better =]
Its Boot Camp...Im pretty sure NOBODY is all excited and upbeat. If you really love eachother then BC isnt going to change that. And if it did change that...well feel lucky that you found out now. I personally believe that if you really love someone you cant just fall out of love, You will always love that person. Some people dont want to be together anymore though. Just let things work out on their own....everything happens for a reason!!
Hey, my bf has been done with boot camp for over a month, I remember his first call to me after the "I'm here" call. He sounded excited at first and then I heard how tired he was, then when I got the "I'm a Sailor" call I thought for sure he was upset with me, because the way he sounded. I got there and the look in his eye's when he said he loves me was so much deeper. Boot camp is supposed to brake you down and rebuild you as a Sailor, it's going to have an affect during it, but I bet you anything your his inspiration and your what he's looking forward too. Also when they're on the phone with you they have ZERO privacy my BF felt a little awkward talking to me simply because his bunkmates and shipmates were literally right next to him on the phone as well. So it could have been that too. PIR is coming and it's amazing look forward to it.

Hope it helps.

Katie.
