For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Comment by MyLoveMyHero301 on December 23, 2012 at 4:12pm: First Baptist Church hosts sailors who can't be home every Christmas...they get as many sailors as possible. They've had 500 before. So ladies with guys at Great Lakes for Christmas, they may get the opportunity to enjoy a home cooked meal and a nice family atmosphere. The families who give their Christmas to these men and volunteer bring their cell phones and let sailors use it as much as they would like. I love this church. Some of the families have sailors of their own and understand what they are going through. I'd love to be there to help. Please click on the link and watch the video :) It will warm your heart :)) Merry Christmas to you and your families. Thank you for giving up Christmas with your sailor so our country can survive and thrive. I love my sailor and I am so proud of him :)) Ship 04 Division 805

Comment by Brittany on December 14, 2012 at 6:37am: Well my fiance ' just left for bootcamp Dec 12th,I got a phone call saying he made it to Chicago,I miss him so much and can't wait to start writing letters,we've been together for 3 and a half years, and lived together for six months its the hardest thing being away for me,Ifeel like everything I do reminds me of him..he is my bestfriend... I'm so happy I found this website with everyone else going through the samething, it's so supportive, I'm still new to it,,hoping for lots of support and info!!

@Jessica - I agree that sending them seperately is great. They get more mail that way and that is the best feeling. I had started wrting my SR a month before he left. I would send old letters with new ones. I send sports news, jokes and pictures and he shares them. He says he gets crap for getting the most mail but loves it so send away! No big envelopes though. :)

My SR told me it felt like ice cubes were stuck to his face lol I hope everyone is packed and ready for this beautiful day!!!

Comment by CHN-B on December 12, 2012 at 6:47pm: Jessica- I would recommend mailing ur letters in no bigger than standard business size envelopes. Either a few days worth of letters (pages) or each day's worth in an envelope. Besides, it's fun for ur SR to receive multiple envelopes in one mail call. Remember not to put stickers or wrote private messages on the outside of the envelopes. :)

I have 9 letters waiting to be sent and I was wondering if it would be alright if I sent them all in a big Manila envelope? Or would he get in trouble for that?

He basically juss wrote a letter to reassure his love for me. To let me know that this distance has made him realize what he has. I'm so thankful! December 21 can't come soon enough , ugh!

The first one he seemed really tired, but I found out from another lady someone in his division talked back to an RDC. Of course, the whole division got in trouble. The second one was after he received a huge pack of letters I mailed him. I mailed all of the letters I had writen before I had his address in one huge yellow envelope. :p He told me for the first night in boot camp he went to sleep with a smile on his face. :) That made my week! Plus, he told me he would write a good letter for my Birthday. I should get it tomorrow or Friday. :3 I send him drawings. Lots of drawings, because he asked me to. :3

Also, you are so lucky! Does your SR get the 10 days for Christmas? I heard from a few girls that their SRs are getting off for 10 Days if the graduate on the 21st but no one knows if it is true. My BF will graduate Jan. 4th.

Nice to meet you Mellisa. My name is Chelsea. I too write a whole page everyday at least. Keep it up! Your Sailor loves your letters and appreciates the reading material I am sure! Keep hanging on! Your BF will love you for it! Also, I know tickets to Virginia might be expensive, but you and your man will probably end up paying and sending you up there I am sure. Once he is on phase 3 in school, he will be allowed to stay out on weekends and sign himself out on weekdays, so you will be able to see him then! :3
