My son left for boot camp on November 7th. His PIR would be in early January. His recruiter told his dad and I that our son might get put in an accelerated group at boot camp who would graduate before Christmas and that he may be able to come home before or after he checks into Goose Creek South Carolina where he will be going to Nuke A school. Does anyone know about this? I can't imagne squishing everything they normally learn in 8 weeks into 5 or 6 weeks. His PIR date will be reflected whne we get the letter in a few weeks. I am not planning on him graduating before Jan, but we were told that due to the holidays sometimes they push everyone through. Any help/comments are appreciated.

I just received my first letter, it was a letter with all his info. He left 11/5/12 and it says his PIR is 12/28/12. I was thinking it would be in January sometime. But I am excited!

My son left on the 7th and just received his form letter with the PIR date of 1/4/13. We were hoping it would be closer to Christmas but it was not meant to be I guess
Join the group, PIR 01/04/2013 (clickable link), to connect with others with loved ones training with your SR. Know that Divisions 047 and 048 are brother divisions and train together and will have Battle Stations-21 together, so look for others with loved ones in either division.
My son was moved up, he went in on 11/5 and PIR is 12/28, from the form letter. I am concerned that it was moved up as I am reading that several SR have been injured in BC and may be sent home. Any one from 13/041 injured?
Your SR was one of the last to fill his division and is in what is called a Push Division. That sometimes happens for those who arrive on a Monday or Tuesday as your son did. Others who arrived the week before had to wait for him to arrive and finish P-days before they could begin training. If there is a problem, then you will be called. Remember, "No news is good news!"
Hello joshmom,
i think thats what happen to my daughter too, she left Nov, 13 and then when i get the letter shes going to graduate on the 4th of Jan, and i ask somebody they said she might be in the Push , wich i dont really get it. other ssaid that those kids are faster than the other they push to the group like them, but i also heard that when a division ware waiting for more kids and your kids got there they move them to the group ahead of them insted of being with the group that arrive at the same time..
Yes, your SR is in a Push Division, meaning that she was one of the last to fill her division, which happens for some arriving on a Monday or a Tuesday. Some of the recruits in her division arrived the week before, probably on Thursday and/or Friday, and had to wait until she completed P-days to begin training. Your SR is fortunate to have less time at the RTC than others in her division and others who arrived the same day who were put in a division in the next TG. The actual training time is six weeks, so don't worry she will have time to get all of her training in.
