Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Spencers mom --Welcome!! Please read my blog to give you an idea of what the first few weeks may look like.. First Things First-- The Quarantine Edition Pay close attention to the first part since your recruit has not yet left. Up and to the Left is a link to all the Navy Lingo! It is titled Navy Speak and you can find it here. We are here to get you through the “Great Silence” of the next 3 weeks (ish) and the 8 weeks of BC (ish). You will come to learn that No News Is GOOD News and everything is Needs of the Navy. Keep your phone near and ringer on loud at all times and answer all calls no matter what caller ID says. You life will be Hurry Up and Wait and it’s ok to make plans but they are subject to change until after they have happened so it’s best to embrace the Motto: Semper Gumby!! (Always Flexible!!)
I know I posted this in the Boot Camp main page but I wanted to put it here for you and anyone else who may need it. To answer your specific question, No, They do not give you anything when you drop them off to head to BC. That is why this page and all the FB pages exist: To help you figure out what to expect, what may be happening, to calm your fears..... Not to sound mean, but the recruiters job is to get them to sign up. Once they leave for Boot camp, their job is done and they are on to the next kid. Please feel free to ask your questions on the Main page or on here and Some one will try their best to answer them. Please also know that with COVID what was normal is not normal any more and things can and do change at a moments notice. We have not lost a mom to boot camp. We will not start with you!! We are here to help. -

Good morning! Our son left on 9/1. We communicated while he was traveling to Chicago. Once he arrived in Wisconsin we received to 10 second "hi, I'm here" call. 9/15 will be 2 weeks that we haven't heard from him. We miss him terribly but pray everyday that we don't hear from him. If we do it's likely due to a medical issue. Patiently waiting for a form letter from RTC next week. It will be difficult for you but be strong as they are in good hands!

We received a call yesterday telling us he will not be leaving until October 22 now. Thank you for responding to my questions. I will also check out the links you gave me beloved by him. I am sure I will be having lots of questions after he leaves!
