OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).  Still limited to 2 guests maximum.

Specific information on this policy change will be provided in the coming days and weeks.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your support.

RTC Graduation

**UPDATE 7/16/2021**

**UPDATE - 2020**

Due to COVID there is no public PIR. The graduations are on Thursday, and the video of the graduation is posted on RTC's FaceBook on Friday at approx 3pm. Please keep in mind that a division may need to complete additional quarantine during training which will delay their graduation.

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

Please see changes to attending PIR in the PAGES column. The PAGES are located under the member icons on the right side.

There will be information within your PIR group about rental cars and hotels as well as within the Discussions in this group and PIR Reference Information and also in the information that comes with your form letter.  Sarge is also a great resource.  He is OldSarge on here.  You might also check on Sailors attending A School in Meridian, Mississippi or Meridian Mississippi A School family&friends.  What rating (job) is your SR going to A School for?  There are groups for all but 2 of the ratings with A School there.

Only your Sailor will know his/her flight details for sure and they could change even in the last week.  Many Sailors flying out to A School fly out the next day, but flight availability may delay that until Sunday or later.  Those with flights later than Sunday usually move over to holding at the main base and have Liberty much like those staying in GL for A School.   My suggestion is that you plan to leave late Saturday or on Sunday.  That will usually allow you to have the most time with your Sailor and spend time with him/her at the airport prior to his/her flight.  If you find that your Sailor leaves later, you can then decide about changing your weekend plans.

Thanks, for your information ..... my son rate will be logistic specialist.

You can join the group, Logistic Specialists (clickable link), and they may be able to give you an idea of how flights have worked recently and what to expect while your Sailor is there.

Great information !!!!!!!
