Our Daughter Arrived At Boot Camp 6/20 Haven't Heard Anything Yet. I Know No News Is Good News, Hope She Made The 1.5 Run. She Couldn't Practice it Cause She Had To Gain Weight To Get It. Hope To Get The Form Letter Soon. Has Anyone Heard Anything yet That From The 6/20 BC Arrivals.
My son also went on 6/20. Got his box and thats it so far, not really expecting anything for about another week and should get the form letter then. You are correct, no news is good news but that doesn't stop a momma from worrying! Keep yourself busy and start writing those letters so they are ready to go. Hang in there
My son got there same day also and other than the box which showed up two days later I have heard nothing. Trying to be positive and just stay in prayer for him. Sure will be nice to hear from him though! Come on letters!!! I sure could use them right about now.
I know how hard it can be, believe me, but continue to stay strong and think positive. Know your loved ones are working extremely hard to accomplish their dreams. They have long days and are learning alot and are tested on all. From folding clothes to ranks. Everything they are taught will be tested. So right now I can garauntee they are missing you and home the same. I tell all Moms to stay strong because we are our lived ones strength and pray with them. Sometimes the first call letter can be hard or not. Encouragement is needed because they are tired/exhausted . best wishes to you and your SR.
The initial run is on the fifth business day after the recruit's arrival at the RTC IF that day is a Monday, Wednesday, or Friday and IF the division the recruit was tentatively placed in filled on the day that the recruit arrived. My son arrived at RTC on 6/20. On this past Friday, I just happened to be off work and got a call from a Waukegan number. My heart immediately started pounding because I knew from when my oldest was there, it was way too soon to be getting a call from him. I was on a country road and knew I would be loosing service, so I pulled off the road as I answered. I heard a very shaky “Hey Mom”. It was all I could do to keep from bursting into tears. I asked if something was wrong and if he was OK. Still shaky, his voice beginning to crack, he says “ I wasn’t expecting to have to call so soon, so I’m trying to find my words”. Again I asked what was going on. Turns out, he was filling out some paperwork for emergency contact stuff and needed mine and his dads addresses. Several months ago, his dad left and I had to move about an hour away to find work, so he moved in with family friends to be able to stay in the same school and not have to switch in the middle of his senior year. He didn’t have his addresses with him at the moment and he doesn’t have my new address memorized. We don’t even have his dads address, so he just used mine. Anyway, he just had a second, but he did say he did his initial run that day and passed and he thinks his form letter is going out on Monday. He also said he’s not able to write letters yet, but he will be soon and he is in a 900 division and will be performing at a few of the PIR ceremonies prior to his. I guess I’ll find out in a few days when that will be. I’m in Illinois, so luckily the mail doesn’t take all that long to get to me. He said all that information very quickly then just said he loves me and had to go, then hung up. I think his voice cracking at first was just because he’s used to calling me every day, and hasn’t been able to. Once he got his composure, he was on a mission to say what he needed to. Basically, I said all of this to say that we should be hearing something from the 6/20 arrivals this week. Watch those mailboxes!
