OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. There are now tickets issued, and there are no longer parking passes for PIR.

Please see changes to attending PIR in the PAGES column. The PAGES are located under the member icons on the right side.

How do I figure out what day my SR and his division will be doing battle stations? There are 14 divisions in this training group. He didn't say anything in his last letter or phone call. Division 78....any mom's know? I am so excited for those going to PIR tomorrow and can hardly wait for next week to get here!

Hi Catherine! When my son was in BC (last January), Battlestations was the Wednesday night prior to PIR. I didn't get the "I'm a sailor" call until late in the afternoon on Thursday. I hope this helps!

<groan> That is what I was afraid of!  My flight leaves Wednesday night and I will arrive in Chicago about 8:30 a.m. on Thursday...I hope I don't miss the call!

I sent you a PM with the day for your call.

Thank you!

You are very welcome.

I see people are already getting calls...so they divide the groups up on diff days? When do u get calls? My SR is in 081

Yes, 1 to 4 divisions go through BST at one time with the "I'm a Sailor!" calls anywhere from 1 day to 7 days or more before PIR. See Battle Stations-21 (BST) for more info.
