Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Good morning all!  It's been two weeks since my SR left.  I have his box and his form letter, so I am feeling pretty happy, which is a far cry from how I felt two weeks ago.  I am so thankful that I have had all of you to help get through the past few weeks.  So thank you, thank you, thank you!

Last week I was feeling pretty mopey and was worrying about the same things all of you are worrying about..Is he sleeping? eating? Is he warn out? Is he cold?  All of this while sitting at my comfortable table, sipping coffee...That is when I came up with an idea.  I decided to get off my rear and spend this "bootcamp" time doing my own bootcamp.

 It has been only a week, but I can honestly say that it has been nice to have something to center some of that "feel sorry for myself" energy on.  Which leads me to...........

I HAVE A CHALLENGE FOR YOU...THE BOOTCAMP MOM CHALLENGE.

So if you are interested this is my thought.  Find something that is tough for you whether it be something mentally or physically challenging.  It doesn't matter what it is...maybe working out, changing eating habits, cleaning the garage, less smoking, drinking more water.  Find something that you can throw yourself into for the weeks ahead while you are waiting for PIR.  You are welcome to share it, or keep it to yourself.  

Here are the Pro's...It keeps your mind occupied, you are challenging yourself, you have something to write about to your SR, you have something you can share with your SR when you see him/her.

Now for the CONS....Ummmm, I can't think of any.

So think about it...How about you come and join me on this journey...

BTW...My challenge is to drink a gallon of water a day, and I have a Cardio, weightlifting plan that is mapped all the way out until I leave for PIR.

Hi ladies, Sounds like all of you are doing well with our challenge over the holiday weekend. Amy, I am going to try your zucchini spaghetti, had already planned for pasta this evening, thanks for recipe. Aimee, received second letter on Thursday! Loving those letters. My SR is married so our daughter in law got a phone call last tuesday.
Thank you Leach73! Your words of encouragement mean a lot!! Although I must say, today I didn't do any walking :( but tomorrow we shall continue! Never give up!

Ladies, you are amazing.  I have been doing pretty good on the water except for today.  Today, I was just off all day.  Tonight though I could really tell that I was dehydrated.  It is amazing that just a short week or two and I am already seeing changes.  You know that the days that I drink the water I have zero cravings and I don't feel tempted to snack..I am excited about that.   So for those of you who are still up....ANOTHER CHALLENGE....When you read this how about you do 5 squats and then drink one glass of water....I am doing mine now....

my physical challenge will be to give up diet Pepsi and drink more water. I drink way to much dp, I will start tomorrow. 

Hi Ali!!  We are glad to have you join us, and we will cheer you on as you skip that Dr. Pepper and grab that water bottle!  (Dr Pepper has always been a true love of mine) So I know!  I am loving the Crystal Lite Raspberry Green Tea, it's yummy and it diverts my attention from the Dr's.  Good luck today and Hooyah!

Good Morning amy3boys and all you other exercising ladies!!!  Holiday is over and now it's time to get down to business.  I work in a school and we're off this week.  Rain in the forecast for every day so I have no excuses NOT to exercise.  Yesterday I shampooed all the carpets in the house.  Believe it or not that was quite a workout, lugging the machine all over the place, on my feet all day, wet feet rather, and managed to squeeze in about 20 minutes of my regular routine.  This morning up bright and early, did a 40 minute workout, made myself a delicious protein, banana, and yogurt shake, and I'm off and running.  Not literally running, as it's still raining here in New Jersey, but have errands to run and some work to do at my husband's business.  Thoroughly enjoying my aching muscles!!!!  May 15 is marked on my calendar amy3boys.  Not only for your SR but for my parents wedding anniversary!!!!  Enjoy your day everyone!!

You go Froggy!!!!  That is great motivation!  Let's move our butts!

On Monday I was able to walk 2.5 miles, but unfortunately my youngest cub (child) is under the weather. I hope to resume tomorrow, I'm keeping up with the water intake though. How's everyone else doing?

Good job mamabear!  I lifted weights yesterday and did 2 miles on the treadmill tonight.  My legs have quit burning finally after my "leg day" workout....though they kind of started up again today when I had to run up 5 flights of stairs today.  

I hope your little one gets to feeling better.  There has been so much crud out there to catch this year.  We have seen a ton of sick people this year at the hospital.  

Hope everyone is doing well tonight and not having any bad weather.  Just remember we can do this...one day at a time...one step at a time.  Each day we are closer to our goal and seeing our SR's.
