My son just called!! I'm on cloud nine! He's a little homesick, says it's been challenging but he's good and knows it will get better. He has a leadership position. I told him we haven't received the form letter, he said they mailed it the other day. Anyway, PIR is May 29th, he's on Ship 14 Division 189. It was SOOOOOOOOOOO GOOD to hear from him!!!

So happy for you Christinanavymom. I can't wait for that day! Rejoicing with you!

Thank you! :-)

ChristinaNavyMom, Very happy for you!!!  We have just a few more weeks home with our DEPper.  I know that's exactly how I will feel when I get that call.  Have a great weekend.

Thank you! Enjoy your SR and make every minute count while you can, so glad we did!
Christinaavymom, congrats! I'm so happy for you!!! That's great that he called before you got the form letter...when did he leave? I'm anxiously awaiting my form letters so I can mail out the big stack of letters piling up!
Mattsmom, Thank you....I'm still smiling! We got the letter this afternoon, I'm more excited about the call, lol. My SR left for GL on March 30th. When did your SR leave?

@ ChristinaNavyMom, my SR called this early am as well, in Ship 14 Division 190, so they are in brother division since Ship 14 has both all male and integrated. Congrats on your SRs leadership position which is a great responsibility. My form letter has not arrived yet, so maybe Monday. My SR left on April 1st and it was definitely a privilege to receive a call from my SR with only 11 days into BC. A great way to start a Navy mom's day!

Did the form letter arrive yet?
ChristinaNavyMom,
My son left on April 7. Cannot wait till I hear his voice! I'm constantly looking at the clock wondering what he's doing and trying to guess if he's done with pdays yet...hopefully my letter will come soon...praying for all our SRs tonight!
Yep, I know the feeling!
Mrboysmom,
Congrats on your phone call, too! I can only imagine how happy you were to hear his voice! I'm sure that made your weekend awesome!

ChristinaNavyMom I got a phone call yesterday morning too!  Yipee! So great to hear her voice and know that everything is ok!  She talked a mile a minute, I could hardly as a question.  I was at work so it was hard to talk, did my best.  I was surprised our call was 23 minutes, for some reason I thought it would be much shorter.  Not complaining :)

Made my Saturday work  a whole lot better.
