I am so very thankful to have found the NAVYForMoms website and Facebook page. Without it, I would probably be curled up in a ball with three or four empty tissue boxes strewn around me! I am so very proud of my son...this is all just so unfamiliar!

I would really like to get to know other moms with sons or daughters who started boot camp on 7/8/15...as a single mom, I could certainly use the support, reassurance, and guidance!

lemonelephant, how often does the PIR list get updated?  I received wonderful news from my recruits GF of a phone call she received today from my recruit.  He is in Ship 13 Div292.  I don't see that in the PIR dated 9/4.  So wondering if his PIR date is 9/4 or 9/11

PIR: 09/04/2015 TG 43 (To be updated; begins with Division 289 and contains Division 943)

That includes your recruit's division. It will be updated when we know the divisions in the TG. So far, I have seen Divisions 289-294 and 943.

so what your saying is because of his division, his PIR is 9/4?

Yes, PIR IS 09/04/2015 for Division 292.

Thank you..

You are very welcome.

I was afraid Navy Lodge would fill up. I have not receive my PIR date yet. I went ahead and made reservations for the weekends of the 4th and the 11th. Room is booked.

Yes, it does fill fast. Be sure to call and cancel the one you don't need as soon as you know the PIR date.

I tried calling the Navy Lodge all afternoon kept getting a strange message from Verizon. Then the website was down and I could'nt get on there. I finally booked the Days Inn. I think the low rates in the brochure they sent are a little sneaky. It's $55 a night if you have just one bed and one person in the room. I made sure to get an extra bed in case our son is able to stay with us. Anybody look into airfare yet? That's Labor Day weekend so the prices seem inflated. Good luck everybody- this is all so exciting! One day at a time!

Your then Sailor will not be able to stay overnight and will most likely be flying out the day after PIR. See Saving Money PIR Weekend, and PIR Day and Liberty during PIR Weekend to help you know how to plan your weekend.

Check your My Page.

aahhhhh 7 more Fridays to go.  Hoping for the form letter today.  Can't wait to meet other families of Division 293, and 294.  We're gonna Rock!

Ship 12 Division 293 for us also.
