So I had this thought.... we, as parents, come up with the craziest funniest wildest ideas and suggestions about bootcamp.  Maybe will be good for a bit of a giggle in the midst of all the tears....

So I think the Navy should add a live feed 24/7 of our SR's area of work.  Kind of like a nanny cam!!   They do it at daycares or pet hotels... why not bootcamp!!!! The Navy could charge a fee for the service and make serious money!!  Just let us know major areas that our recruit will be throughout their bootcamp and we can be "right there with them".  They could have cameras in the more non secured areas like the chow hall, gym workout area, pool, outdoor obstacle course, building entrance, etc... It would be great!!   I know I would be a serious addict and glued to the feed!  Plus it would be really helpful to those families who can not attend PIR but want to see it in real time.

Kind of like our own Bootcamp Big Brother live feed!! LOL  :D

I know I know the saying.... family wasn't issued in the seabag... but had I not had him in the first place you wouldnt have the awesome and fantastic sailor you have now!

I'm voting yes on your idea mamabeans. I'm a little attached to my kid. I wouldn't watch her ALL the time, just check in when I haven't gotten a letter in a while.

I would so be addicted just looking for my SR:)

Sounds wonderful except if they yell at my baby,I couldn't get through the screen to strangle someone! LOL!!!

Came up with a new one.... about 1/2 way through the recruits should get "pet therapy" day in which they get to adopt a pet for the day.  Would be a super fun day "off" for the SR's to use on holidays....

Or, better yet... let us send them gifts for holidays like xmas or easter baskets.  They have to answer a series of questions correct to find their gift.  If they are unable to finish the puzzle of questions before time runs out then the gift is donated to a local charity and the SR just gets the card.  That would be motivational for them to learn their stuff and know it!!  I know my son will do A LOT for simple easter eggs!

P.S.  Can we have the Commander take a day and wear the rabbit suit too.  Would add to the realism of the day.  :)

And birthdays in bootcamp should recieve a special phone call home!  Please and thanks Navy powers that be!  :)

When I was in boot camp we were allowed a package for easter....all the parents sent boxes and we could eat as much as we could in a little room there was in the barracks, 10 of us at a time.....the rest went home with the RDC's

Nice!  I vote that the RDC's at the very least wear bunny ears for the day to cheer our SR's up!  :)

Geez, I am just full of ideas!!  What are some of all your crazy and outrageous ideas?????
