Hi all!  Our daughter left from Portland, OR on 8/22/12.  Got the call later that evening that she had arrived safely in GL.  Just wanted to make contact with anyone else out there who had a child leave around that same day! Now that we are really in this, I am a little more freaked out than I thought I would be! Thanks to you all!  It is making all the difference reading your posts!

Hoping to get the box & letter soon.  Yesterday was extremely hard for me.  Not only was it my birthday but also the day the kid & I work the Stock Car track together.  I had to do his job weighing the cars & I suck at it.  Kept wishing he was there to do it.  So hate this not being able to talk to him!

Plans for today:  My husband is going to check in with the recruiter today to see if we can get an address.  And I will be avidly watching the front door step for a box!

Hope you guys get your box today :)

Double bonus day...box and address!  Just seeing her writing on the box has made me smile.  She's in Ship 2/Div 949/USS Reuben James.

Yay Rachelsmom!

Rachelsmom, I am so jealous right now! Congrats!

Congrats. This gives us all hope. I smiled just seeing kyles handwriting. It amazing at these little things that give us joy. :)
Yayy!! Good for you and yes Paula that gives us all hope
I couldn't wait any longer... No box again today. A phone call to the recruiter, looks like my son and your daughter are in the same place Ship 2/ Div 949/USS Reuben James.

Oh how cool!!  I've heard 900 divisions are performing divisions...does he play an instrument or something?  Rachel spins rifles and flags.  She had said she wasn't going to volunteer for a 900 division but she must have changed her mind.

Josh plays guitar and drums but he also mentioned not saying anything. Maybe they both changed their minds. It's nice to know where there 'home' is. Oh, my name is Anne. Josh went to GL 8/22 from Indy. I am still awaiting the box. :/

My son also left on 08/22/2012 recieved a phone call that night stating he had arrived and said he would call agaitwo to three weeks. Waiting for my kid in the box and letter.
