Writing my first letter to my son and I have so much to tell him.  I so look forward to graduation, when I can see my proud sailor.  It is so hard sometimes not being able to talk to him at a moments notice.
Accidentally called his cell phone the other day, great to hear his voice, via message though.  Ha Ha

Ha Ha Janc158! I call my daughters cell all the time too...even thought I know it is sitting in her big purse in the family room where she left it! When did your recruit leave for boot camp? Do you know his PIR date yet?
Hi labmom39! Yeah this may be crazy but I saved one of his voice messages that he had sent to me about a month ago. My recruit left for Boot Camp Oct. 26. PIR is Dec. 17. It would be awesome if Holiday time off was a possibility. I am not sure how that works.
My daughter left the same date. I call her cell phone and leave messages. I also recorded her and our son fusing at each other too!
jancl58 - Come join our PIR 12/17/10 group. We have a lot of wonderful info over there and a lot of wonderful ladies :) They will get to take leave for Christmas. If they graduate 12/17 they will have leave from 12/18 until 12/28. Susan
I have a son on Ship 03 Div.21. For some reason he has decieded to stay till after A school which also is in G, L. We are coming for graduation so we will at least get to see him then. anyone else have asailor staying? Dawn
Hello Janc158 and labmom39! I thought i was the only one who did that....I also sleep in my sons bed at times...i can smell him on his pillow.....This is the first time he has been away from me. Im happy and proud of him but to let you both in on a little selffish secret.........I want my son home.......ok, i let that one out! lol Mine graduates on November 19th. Im so excited that i get to see him.
Hi mattsmom! That is okay I probably would do that too if I could. I am sure my daughter-in-law does that. Hope the time goes fast. At least when he is in school we can visit him.
Hi all...that is funny Matts mom...I did that when my son left for college this year too but my daughter had been away in her own apartment for the last year at college. I am right behind you mattsmom...my daughter graduates on 11/24! Take some pictures of the choir for me...My daughter should be singing at your son's PIR. Ladies..all of graduations will be here before you know it and hopefully we all have our sailors home for Christmas!
Oh having him for Christmas would be just wonderful. OMG......The thought of not having him home for Christmas just hit me........I've just been thinking about Thanksgiving. Now Christmas......I hope I can make it.
My son is due to graduate on 12/17/10. His A school will also be at Great Lakes. Anyone know how it works as far as him coming home around the holidays. Not sure how long I'll need to book a room for. Don't want him to be left there on his own if they don't get leave. Thanks for any info.
My son called home on Saturday and said he would be getting to come home for Christmas. His school is in Pensacola, Florida. He said he would just have to be there by the 27th. I am just not sure if he will be flying back home with us on the 19th or if they will want him to leave soon after graduation. I have already booked our flight so I hope he can get on the flight with us. I hope your son will get to come home too, I would think that they all will. Just so they are back in time for there school to start.
We booked a room from the 16th -19th, and I am hoping they will let him stay with us after graduation. But not sure if that is allowed.
As i have been reading in all these different groups and all, I have read that they get to go on liberty for the weekend and that they must be back by 9ish or before that time as they need to be in their ship. I am hoping that after graduation We can go out to eat and see a movie an then just go back to our room and relax....On saturday It would be nice to possibly go to the Mall as my son loves the Mall and have lunch there and then go back to the hotel and let him use his laptop and cell phone so that he can call his friends and get on facebook. Sunday, i would like to see us go to church and then say good bye and see where the Navy will be sending him from there. He said he wont know until he graduates as things change all the time.
