What is informed delivery?

Free service the postal system has. You sign up and it sends you pictures of incoming mail and when it will be delivered. You can see the front of the envelope so you know who it’s from!
It’s a free service hour post off gives you. You sign up and it sends you pictures of your mail that is to be delivered before it’s even put in mailbox. I can see the from of the envelope and it tells me who it’s from and where it came from etc.
