Ok I tried to post this earlier and it doesn't look like it took. If it did and this is a duplicate I am sorry.
So I got my letter from my son yesterday evening with graduation date and address to send letters to. I am not close to my family in fact we don't get along very well. However some how my brother was able to call and receive the info of mailing address for my son. Of course I thought he may have been telling a lie but when I asked for the address he had the correct one. I called his recruiter and she did not know how he got the info. I am beyond frustrated on what they my send to him and I need him focused at boot camp. But now I am also worried now will they always be able to find out his info? What about privacy and safety of our sailors. You can't tell me they can't see who viewed his file because if it wasn't his recruiter then that person would have some questions they would have to answer. Sorry for the long rant!

Been volunteering on here for six years. The only way I know for someone to get a recruits address is from the Form Letter, Recruiter or the Recruit. RTC will not give out that info due to privacy laws.

Sorry you are having a difficult time :-(

My son only sent the form letter which we just got yesterday. His recruiter was out of the office today and the person in the office said that someone called but he wouldn't give the info out. My son has only been gone 1 week so no phone privileges yet and he doesn't know his Uncles address so he didn't mail it either.

I'm afraid your brother is the only one who can tell you where he got the info from. Again, I am so sorry you have to deal with this right now.

I will pray that whatever family challenges there are that they will be overcome for the benefit of your Recruit. Blessings to you ❤

This is concerning for sure.  My guess is your brother "knows" someone who was able to get him this info??  Or perhaps they know someone else in the same division of boot as your son?  I wouldn't let it bother you, hopefully they have enough sense to understand the stress he is under and wouldn't purposely add to that stress!  Oh family drama is the best isn't it??  Thinking of you!!
