Hello all (new moms, old moms, and admins),

First of all I want to say thank you for this webpage and forum. It has been extremely helpful to me, as a resource full of relevant and current information but also a place of support and encouragement. That is actually why I haven't posted for awhile, I don't want to discourage any moms who are in the same place I have been... I come here looking for hints and clues that my son is doing well, for comfort in the knowledge that others have been there and are going through the same. I don't want to bring any negative energy to such a positive place.

My son is home! He was in the SEP unit on ship 5 for 17 days. After disclosing a previous medical issue (for which he should have submitted waiver requests prior to enlistment) he has been separated. I haven't had my big hug yet, as I am still out of the country, but at least he's home with his brothers. It may be that after a waiting period and waivers submitted he may choose to come back, and I will be here again seeking and sharing encouragement. But for now, I'll sign off.

If any of you find yourselves in a similar place to us, know you aren't alone. I was surprised to hear how many recruits there were in SEPS, and the reasons for separation are quite varied.

Thanks for being here!

A minor setback, for a major comeback!! Prayers up xo

Thanks for your hearfelt post. Sending positive energy to you and your son. Everything happens for a reason. In time it will be clear, I'm sure. All the best to him and his future endeavors! Knowing it will all be perfect! Take care!

Michelle-- I am so sorry that your son was separated.  I'm even more sorry that you felt you couldn't come here for support.  Praying that your son finds his direction and tell him I said Thank you for even being willing to try!  Many don't.  Safe travels in Europe and enjoy your hugs when you get  back home.

Hi Michelle - I left you a PM.  And I like how Shoes2BeHappy put it "A minor setback for a major comeback!"  Words to remember!

Also, please remember - don't completely leave the site.  If you do every post that you have ever made will disappear.

FluffySitter - So saddened to hear of your son's separation. We are here for you no matter what and as B'sNukeMom said, don't leave completely or all your words of encouragement to others will be lost.

I am glad you found words of encouragement, comfort and help here.

Thank you all for your encouragement and kind words! He’s home and visiting nursing programs this week, filled out FAFSA in preparation to go back to school. I’m very proud of him for his strength and integrity. He’s remaining true to his values and finding another path to the same goal.

Good evening Michelle - I saw your note in my personal emails this morning, but did not have an opportunity to reply then. It sounds like your son is taking charge of his circumstances and going forth with a new direction. Please let him know that he has many Navy moms who commend him for his time, service, and efforts and our prayers are with him as he goes forth with this next journey and season of his life. Do come back and share with us how things are going for him.

Good morning, I admire his strength and courage just to want to be part of this, however, "one door closes another opens" and you never know what is around the corner for him.  Whatever it is, he will make a choice and have everyone's support, that is what we moms do.  Best of luck we may see you here in the future, keep us posted please!
