Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

Got the first letter
I got the letter yesterday (form) with my son's information. Ship 09 Div 215 PIR 7/13/12. Made hotel reservations and have a letter to send. I wonder how long until we get a real letter with how he's doing.

So exciting!!! It seems to make it much easier when we have a date that we know we're going to see our child, that's for sure! My daughter is graduating on 7/13 too!! :)

It will probably be anywhere from 2 to 3 weeks before you get a letter from him. It feels like the longest wait, so lean on us here at N4M!
Writing every day is cathartic for you and it will feel like "Christmas" for him when his name is called for mail. It's a win-win!

Niki photos are fine. If you can scan them onto regular paper it would be better. Crosswords...not really they don't have the time for that and would rather read a letter from home or look at photos from home in their spare time

I started a little game for him to play with his shipmates. I am finding funny pictures of signs, resturants, etc and sending them with "caption this" and putting my caption on the back. My thought was he could put his caption then pass it around the ship and everyone could have a good laugh. I used to send him funny things in email or text so this is a way to keep it going and maybe give all the kids a little giggle.

Did your child go in on the 16th. Wondering when I will get my letter.

he went on May 15, got his box within a few days and the form letter on the 22nd. Still no real letter.

It will probably be another week or two before you can expect a call or letter. Hang in there and keep writing. When I talked to my son last night he said, happily, that he would 'get my next letter tonight.' Those letters are so important! Stay as busy as humanly possible to help the go faster and stay connected to N4M for support!
