While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

graduation march 30 nuke recruit liberty? help
help. my daughter is in ship 10 division 102 and graduating march 30. i was told that my daughter was flying out for nuke school on the 31st and that she had leave during part of the 31st until she had to report back to the barracks before she flew out. i've just been told by her dad that she only has liberty for friday. help. i might need to change airline tickets (i planned on being there all day on the 31st to see her and flying back on the 1st.) please anyone that has any info please,PLEASE, REPLY.

She should only have liberty Friday after graduation. They normally fly out early sat morning. The Navy brings them to the airport and they hang out there for hours depending on when her flight leaves. I know some were in the airport for upto 12 hours. You need to find out what her orders are so you know what airport and time because you can get a pass to go sit with her until her flight. You have to stay in the airport, but you can atleast visit with her. Unless something happened and her orders got put on hold or she has to stay for whatever reason, she will be in the airport early sat morning.

mhouston...don't count on more than Friday with your daughter. My son graduated on March 16 and flew out of O'Hare to Charleston at 8:15 a.m. on March 17. We had Friday with him and then met him at the airport at 3:00 a.m. It was a great time but emotional seeing him and then having to say goodbye again. It gets better once they have their phones and can call you all the time. My son is in Charleston and still waiting to class up, hopefully in one more week. Good luck and congrats to your daughter.

he says he got it from my daughter when she called but i got my info from her letter. don't know which one to believe but will stay anyway i guess. thank you all for responding....and so quickly. i might try to call her rectuiter that we got to know so well during her depper time. thanks again...so much.

mhouston, my son's PIR was 3/4/11, he had liberty only that day until 8:00pm. As a large bus load the Nuke's went to either O'hare or Midway. We met my son at O'hare at 3:30 in the morning. We got to watch them unload off the bus and head to the USO. If you can, don't miss this! It was an experience I am so glad I was able to have. All those new sailors going to places they've (most likely) never been to before. We were able to get special gate passes and accompany him to his gate. Unfortunately, his plane was one to go first, I think 7:30, so we didn't have that much extra time with him, but it was well worth it. We were able to give him his laptop and cell phone (ahh the lines of communication!), and his snacks. As they all arrive at the airport at the same time, but don't all get on the same plane, some are at the airport longer. Some even got to go into Chicago with family for a little while. When she calls with her "I'm a sailor" she will have all her flight info. Congratulations on Friday's PIR!!
My son graduates from Power School on the same day in Goose Creek. About the time you are getting on a plane to go to Great Lakes, I will be doing the same to Charleston. Safe travels mhouston.

mhouston - Just do not change your airline tickets. We are also flying out on Sunday. You want to be there and available, just in case!

She technically should have liberty on Friday after graduation and then if you choose to you can go and wait at the airport with her on Saturday until her flight leaves. You probably won't know when her flight is leaving until right before but a lot of parents go to O'Hare and meet up with their kids early and wait with them even if it's only a couple hours - sometimes it can be for a majority of the day - just depends. So the info from the form letter AND your husband are both technically correct. But because this is the Navy plans can always change at the last minute - if I were you I probably wouldn't change my travel plans - one extra night in the hotel would probably cost the same as changing your ticket. Then you are there and can spend as much time as she has on the 31st with her. Have a great time at PIR - it is awesome!!
