Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

Have you joined up with your PIR group? That will give you a TON of info and you will be talking with folks whom you will very likely see when your son graduates. My son left 2/14 and I am really shocked at how much I miss him. I still have a daughter at home. He is my first baby...I'm an older mom...and he and I have been buddies every since he was born. Good luck..you know that it will be several weeks before you hear from him, right? Waiting is the hardest part.

I know...he said he would speak to me in three weeks. Thats tough...I leave his baseball cap still on the hook by the front door...for comfort. I will join that group, thank you. I new at this. And I must say its a great site.

Oh, it really is. I have drawn a lot of comfort from the site. I think three weeks tohear from your son is a little over-ambitious...I would prepare for 4 or 5 and then, if he does call sooner, it will be that much more of a gift. I have left my son's room exactly as he left it and occasionally go in and just sit, just to feel closer to him. Once you join your PIR group you will meet even more people who have a direct connection to your son. Believe it or not, I found a woman who actually had pictures and a video of my son during his swearing in ceremony, which we didn't know we could attend. Total stranger. And now we are staying at the same place for our PIR and will be able to meet face to face. I couldn't believe it when I looked at her pictures and saw my son front and center. It was kind of a miracle. I probably spend way too much time on this site but it helps. A lot of moms like to watch the battle station drills and stuff on youtube...I watched one and have never watched another one and never will. So be careful about that. And be prepared to cry at the weirdest times. Whew. It's hard but staying in touch with people going through the same thing has helped me SO much.

My son (only child) also left on 3/10/11 from Oklahoma City (I live in Dallas). He called me at approximately 7:00 pm when he landed at Chicago O'Hare and then he called his dad about 10:45 pm to let him know he was at GL. Do we have a PIR date for the recruits that left on 3/10/11? My son's recruiter said his PIR would be either 5/6/11 or 5/13/11.
