I recently found out my husband's PIR is 5/17 i am very excited so i looked around for hotels i found one called Navy lounge. since i am traveling alone with my 1 year old daughter i thought this would be the best place. but when booking reservations i put my information instead of my husband. My question is will i not be able to stay there because i'm obviously not a sailor. or can i just change the reservation to his name when i get there? please help.

I stayed at the Navy Lodge for my son's PIR last year.  When I booked the room, I told them I was going to PIR.  They asked me his name and division number.  I don't think they needed anything else.  My daughter and I checked in on our own.  They did have the reservation under my son's name.  Just call them to confirm.

Jackie, just call their number and have them change the reservation to your SR's name.  The reservation has to be under the military persons name.  They're really nice about changing it.  Many of us have made that same mistake.

I just called the navy lodge and the receptionist told me i wouldn't have to change it into my hubby's name until i get there.

Also does the navy lodge have a shuttle that will take me and my daughter and everyone else attending with no car to the PIR or do i have to walk?

there is no shuttle, but you can call Sarge's taxi service and they will get you there in plenty of time.

I agree with everyone else, just call them and let them know. I don't think they will give you any problem, they have run into this before! The phone number is 847-689-1485. I am sure it will be fine. I stayed there for my son's PIR 12/28, myself husband and 2 brothers of my sailor son and it was perfect for our needs. I hope you have the same experience. The staff was helpful and used to people attending for PIR. That being said, this is not the case at other Navy Lodges. There the sailor will have to make the reservation themselves. They are more lenient at Great Lakes due to the number of family who come to attend the ceremony. Their link
