Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

I just got the box!!

It hasn't even been a week and I received the box tonight! I just got the "box" with his belongings in it from boot camp. I was so excited to get it and I don't know why. There was no letter or address, which I figured would be the case but it still made my heart smile. It means we are that much closer to being able to communicate through letters and that much closer to knowing the day I will get to see him again

Thanks to the Fedex guy who realized this was supposed to be delivered today and came all the way back out even though his shift was supposed to be over, just so he could deliver it to me

I got the box today too!  However after going through it and his backpack I found the phone card he is supposed to use.  EEEK!!

Phone card? Wait what they need a phone card???? He only had five days between swearing in to leaving for boot camp....do I need to send him one? I wonder if they are in the same division!

Yes they need a phone card to call home.  I think they can buy one at the NEX.  I sure hope so because if I end this one again it will be several weeks before I hear from him.  I rec'd info from my son's recruiter that he is in Ship 13, Div 121.  Will need to verify that tho when the letter arrives.

My son is in Ship 13 Div 122.  I wonder if they have worked together.  I only received the first phone call when they arrived, then the box with his belonging, and one letter last thursday.  Have you heard from your son?

What does he say?

Divisions 121 and 122 are brother divisions and train together.

I decided to not to ask that recruiter about anything lol.....I find them somewhat undependable concerning information.

Does he have his debit card? My husband kept his to be able to buy things at the nex. If not you can mail him one and he should get it in time for his second call :)

My boy had his debit card with him and put his last check in the account before he left.  At least I hope he still has his debit card; I didn't find it with his phone card.  lol!!!

Oh they did let him keep his wallet :D I just remembered we went and bought a special one just for boot camp haha. So okay that makes sense. But he doesn't have much money in his account.....neither of us do haha
