Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

KUDDO'S ladies you did good everything you told Adam's mom is the truth. And Adam's mom he'll be fine and believe us or not you will too....just keep coming here asking questions and sharing your feelings we have all been there done that some of us just longer ago and some right where you are now.

It took us exactly 14 days from her report date (1 day after she left) to get a quick note. She sounded great, and said it is not that bad. The waiting is the hardest part!

Adam's Mom, I was were you are now back in February and was SO nervous and anxious. I'm sure that you will get the letter within a day or so. This group was so important for me during that time of no communication. When you do get your letter, start or join a group of other mom's, girlfriends or wives of the sailor's in your son's ship. They will become your family during the next 8 weeks and a source of comfort. It will all be OK. My son finished Boot Camp and Hospital Corpsman A school and is now stationed in New Port RI. His time in boot camp seems like a life time ago instead of 7 months. Please take care and don't forget to breathe.

I got the letter today!! i cried! He said he never knew how good he had it at home til now, lol. He said he loves and misses us. I am so happy to hear from him!

Yay! So happy for you... yeah, my hubby said the same. Just keep writing him and encouraging him. A lot of people send FB updates (from their pages) to their recruits, newspaper clippings and fun little things like that. Pictures are treasured there. Just nothing crazy... LOL.
My husband said there was no way he would have made it through without my letters and pictures.

Congratulations!!!! I sent my son a letter every day even if it was only a few paragraphs. My Navy for Moms friends were my life line to him. We all shared stories of what our loved ones wrote. My son was not a big one to write so the information that was shared with me helped me through. He did tell me that the letters really helped and that he missed home and us very much. Good luck!

YEA!!!! So happy for you Adam's Mom!! It's funny how just a few lines help to make everything better. My son's letter reminded me of notes he wrote from camp and I cried and cried over it. So glad you can go into the weekend without the worry.

My son left Sept. 13. He got to call us on October 4, then about 2 days after that I received 2 letters in one envelope. It just takes a long time. Keep writing him and sending mail regularly. So happy you heard from him today!!
