29 days and counting....I have started the "getting teary" when I think about him leaving phase. He seems pretty relaxed about it although he spends every waking moment with his friends that he has known since kindergarten. And he's keeping his room clean! What's up with that!!!!

I called my son's recruiter today and he said that my son had not been processed yet. Got the phone call on 1-5-12. Got the box yesterday 1-10-12. Now I am waiting on the letter. The recruiter did say it does take a few days to get them in the system. I know my son is where he wants to be with the World's Greatest Navy. So as soon as I know his ship and division I will shout it out. He will be doing his A school at Ft Sam Hood and will be a Corpsman.
My son is Ship 9, Division 76

My son arrived at Basic on 1/5/12. I got his box on Tuesday. I have not received a letter yet. Honestly, I was surprised to hear that some have. That's FANTASTIC. I'm hoping that perhaps my letter will arrive tomorrow. But know that you are not the only one with a recruit who started basic last Thursday that hasn't received a letter. WE CAN DO THIS!
I am sure your form letter will be coming very soon! Probably today you will get your letters, I live in Wisconsin so of course I would get my letters sooner..I am closer. I know when I send letters to my in-laws in Colorado, it takes about 5 days!
