My son left Baltimore for Chicago at 2:30 today. I texted, with for awhile until 8-830 tonight. Then at 930 the call came to,my husband Thank goodness he had just gotten home from a meeting so we could speaker it. My son sounded very nervous and anxious. But that's completly normal I,would bet. I'm just very happy the call came early and not in the middle of the night it would have been a sleepless one for sure. I've cried so much in the past few days I thimk im getting dehydrated. I'm a respiratory therapist at a hospital. I need to keep it together at work at least. When someone just asks "how are you?" The floodgates open. Is that gonna get better? The holidays are coming. That won't help my mindset either.

Pennyrh I was thinking the same thing maybe 1/2 or 1/9 but 12/31 was never a date I even thought could be a possibility. For myself the sooner is better also but it actually worries me a little because that means our SR's have less time to prepare and pass all requirements. I am sure they will do fine but I worry about everything all of the time. Please post if you do hear a date.

Hi.  We got our form letter yesterday that our son graduates PIR on December 31st.  He's on ship 2.

I hope to get our son's address soon...our recruiter told us Tuesday.  He also told us he thought this group would be on a fast track and have PIR on 12/22 or 12/23?!!  Don't hold out for that as one thing I've learned being a military family is we must be flexible...dates and times change a LOT!  It can make things tricky when you are trying to plan vacation days from work and travel arrangements and such but 'welcome homes' are always worth it!

There is no PIR on 12/19/2014 or 12/26/2014 so if your recruit arrived the first week of November, then PIR will be 12/31/2014.

Check your My Page.

Hi Ladies.  I have twin boys that also left November 6th.  Their recruiter told me that he would not know their PIR date until after their first week of BC.  I have mixed feelings about them being on a fast track and having their BC cut short.

Got my first call from BC last night!  They were really excited and said they are loving BC.  I am so relieved!

Pennyth, I agree totally.  My son left on the 12th.  I knew when he would be leaving for 6 months.  The last few days were awful.  He called me at 1 AM with the short scripted call.  All I could say was I love you.  When someone asks about him I lose it.  As a single parent, I miss him all the more.  His brothers miss him as well.  We have decided to just get on with the holidays because his PIR won't be long after,  Best of luck to you and your family.

Christina, I got my son's information from his recruiter. He is on ship 11 div 015. It's getting a little better. I'm still waiting for the "box." Please let me know what ship and division your son is in.

willsmom93, the recruiter is mistaken, Division 015 has PIR this Friday. Perhaps it is Division 051.
