Has anyone ever received a letter that appeared to be opened by someone and is now taped shut? My husband got it in the mail and is bringing it to me at work so I haven’t seen it but I was just wondering if this happens to others.

NavyMom9519 - I honestly don't have any information with regards to an opened letter unless it was something the PO did. If the letter had come unglued or was torn in the auto feeder readers, it might have been taped back, but usually the PO either puts a sticker or stamps it.

I hope the letter brought a lot of happiness to you today.

Chipmunk - it’s the weirdest thing. I think maybe it got stuck in the scanner because I got a notification that I would be receiving an unscanned piece of mail - and the letter was the only thing I didn’t know was coming. It’s ripped right along the seam as if someone slid their finger in it and ripped it along the top. The tape used to seal it back was packing tape like you’d use for a package at the post office. The letter itself is intact. So I’m just going to assume it happened at the PO. And it was an amazing letter! I already see major changes in him! I’m so proud of him! Thank you!!

Yes that sounds like a PO machine snag!  I am glad you had a great letter.

My son usually mentioned that he only had about 10 - 20 min. to write us, so his letters were really short.
